The ThinkPad X1 Carbon came out right before Windows 8 was released. Now that this new Microsoft operating system has become standard on most PC systems, it was only natural that Lenovo upgrade one of its more popular ultraportables with touch display capability. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch is essentially the same laptop as the non-touch version. The display is a little thicker and the system a tad heavier. You’ll be expected to pay about a $100 premium for this new model.
