Lenovo’s New Super Ultrabook

Lenovo ultrabooks are finally here, and no, I’m not referring to the IdeaPad models.  The ThinkPad family has a new member in the X1 Carbon.  Belonging to the X Series, which features laptops that are focused on extreme mobility, the ThinkPad X1 is Lenovo’s thinnest and lightest ultrabook produced.  It’s perfect for the mobile professional that needs to stay productive and connected wherever he goes.  The ThinkPad X1 is one of the most powerful performance ultrabooks out on the market today.

Gavin O’Hara talks briefly on this new product on Lenovo’s Official Blog.  In it he covers some key highlights

  • It’s light. ThinkPad X1 Carbon only weighs about 3 pounds and lives up to its rep as the thinnest, lightest 14″ Ultrabook in the world.
  • It’s tough. It’s made from the same ridiculously strong carbon fiber they use in the automotive industry. This material adds structural strength and durability to the laptop while minimizing its weight.
  • It’s connected. X1 Carbon has embedded 3G connectivity. Unlike with most other Ultrabooks, you can connect anytime anywhere with a mobile broadband pay-as-you-go option.
  • It’s super-charged. This Ultrabook has Lenovo RapidCharge, meaning your battery can go from 0 to 80% strength in just 35 minutes.
