Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y Series is one of the company’s more popular product categories. That’s because it provides a balance of features most people are looking for. Equipped with great entertainment computing highlights as well as with performance computing specifications, the IdeaPad Y Series simply does everything. Two systems are available, and they are the Y400 and the Y500. Basically one is a 14″ machine and the other a 15.6″ machine.

One unique design feature is the Y500’s modular ultrabay underneath the notebook, which allows you to swap in different components. Our unit came with a second 650M GPU, but you can easily unlock this and swap it out with Lenovo’s expanded 750GB HDD tray ($190), a DVD burner ($70), or cooling fan ($30). Here’s a product overview tour of the upcoming Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11s convertible ultrabook. For those who aren’t familiar with the Yoga product series, the machines found in this family of systems are able to be transformed into four different computing modes: tent, laptop, stand, tablet. Use the computer as you see fit, in whatever situation you find yourself in.

The IdeaPad Yoga 11s specifically is an update to the existing Yoga 11. The biggest improvement would probably have to be the operating system. Before the Yoga 11 was run on Windows RT. The Yoga 11s will run on Windows 8.

It seems like another new family of ThinkPad laptops will be coming out this summer.  The ThinkPad S431 is expected to be available for purchase this upcoming June, and with the S431 designation, it would appear that a new S Series will also be making its debut.  Currently we see the likes of the T Series, X Series, W Series, Edge Series, and L Series.  Could the ThinkPad L Series be a  new touch screen product line?

The ThinkPad S431 would sport a 14-inch display that has been fitted into a 13-inch frame. Sounds illogical? Well, that is because it boasts of beveled edges which were specially designed to make the entire shebang look thinner than it actually is. Lenovo claims that the progressive design cues used will assist small businesses to impress their customers, without compromising on power or productivity. Other hardware specifications include 8GB RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and the ability to connect to the ThinkPad OneLink Dock using a single cable. Expect the Lenovo ThinkPad S431 to ship from June 2013 onwards for $699 a pop.

Depending on your computing needs, Windows RT may or may not be the right operating system for you. It seems like Windows RT has thus far failed to live up to its hype, and because of this, Windows RT systems, such as Lenovo’s Yoga 11, are being discounted to move inventory.
