IdeaPad Yoga 11S: A Smaller & Comparable Yoga 13 Hybrid

Lisa Gade over at MobileTechReview has just posted a video review of the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S Convertible Ultrabook. This device, for some, is something that’s been long overdue. The reason is because its predecessor was somewhat lacking. The IdeaPad Yoga 11 was powered by a Tegra-based Windows RT OS. This updated version runs on a full Windows 8 OS.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S is the baby brother to the extremely popular Yoga 13. Don’t confuse the Yoga 11S with the Windows RT Yoga 11 released in the fall of 2013. The 11S is a full Intel Core convertible Ultrabook running Windows 8 64 bit, just like the Yoga 13. We first saw the Yoga 11S when we met with Lenovo at CES in January 2013, and now the Ultrabook is finally shipping. Is it still cool? Let’s see.

Differences Between Yoga 11 & Yoga 11s

Have you heard?  Lenovo’s coming out with another IdeaPad Yoga ultrabook.  This time it will be the Yoga 11s, a slight variation of the Yoga 11 which is currently available right now.  The Yoga 11s should be available in the next month or two.  If you’re wondering what the differences between these two different but similar systems, check out the article below.  The reading briefly highlights what consumers can expect.  A short clip is found below.

The main difference between the current 11-inch Yoga and the new version is in the processor. The existing Yoga 11 uses an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and runs Windows RT. This special version of Microsoft’s operating system is built for ARM processors (like the Tegra 3) that are commonly found in mobile devices. On the other hand, the new Yoga 11S uses an Intel Core-i processor that’s standard among Ultrabooks, and similar to the ones found in Lenovo’s 13-inch Yoga.

IdeaPad Yoga 11S Will Be Available June 2013

Lenovo’s IdeaPad Yoga has become quite the popular item. The Yoga 13 came out first and has done well in sales. People seem to like the flexibility that the device offers. The Yoga 11 came out second and recently this past December. While it showcased a smaller and more convenient form factor, the system received mixed reactions, primarily because it’s powered by a Tegra 3 processor is runs on a slimmed down Windows RT operating system. CES 2013 gives preview that changes have been made to the Yoga 11. A new model called the Yoga 11S will be available for purchase this upcoming June and it will be loaded with full Intel Core Series processors and equipped with Windows 8.
