The ThinkPad R500 is similar to the ThinkPad R400 except with a larger display screen.  The ThinkPad R500 comes with a 15.4″ widescreen display as opposed to the 14.1″ display for the R400.

The only other significant difference is the option for shoppers to select an Intel Celeron processor for the ThinkPad R500.  The Celeron processor is a more cost effective CPU solution when compared to other Intel processors.  The ThinkPad R400 does not include this option for users to select.
