Lenovo’s IdeaPad U510 is soon to be released.  Expected to follow in the footsteps of the 13.3″ U310 and the 14″ U410 Ultrabooks in design, the U510 will feature a 15″ display.  How many ultrabooks have you seen with this size form factor?  I don’t think there’s any out on the market.

With the IdeaPad U510, Lenovo will have expanded the IdeaPad U Series to the three most popular display sizes today.  The U Series is made up of machines that are ultrabooks; thin and light mobile computing solutions.  The IdeaPad measures just a few millimeters thick.

Many ultrabooks models sacrifice an optical drive to make the machine thin and light.  With the IdeaPad U510, you’ll be able to keep your optical drive, either a DVD or a Blu-ray drive, with the notebook.  This is definitely a plus, especially for those that still want to have this capability.

It does, however, boast a very quick resume time – just over a second – thanks for the extra 32GB SSD on board. Actual storage is provided by standard hard drives up to 1TB. Expect various processors to be available in the U510 up to the Intel Core i7.
